Decalogue for Improving Healthcare – A Call to the Government and Political Parties

The Romanian healthcare system needs to change, to the benefit of the patients, the medical staff, their families and loved ones. To all of our benefits. Crises always tend to bring out the shortages and issues of this ill system that should be caring for our health. Its high time we all contributed to its’ wellbeing. **Together with the most important organizations and associations in the medico-social area, we’ve signed a DECALOGUE for IMPROVING HEALTHCARE – a call to the Government and political parties for 10 concrete reforms in the Romanian medical system.**  We ask that the politicians and authorities implement these reforms by the end of 2021. The 10 measures we require include: * a depolitization of healthcare management positions; * real support for programmes offering better access to vulnerable categories; * better health policies for children; * a multianual plan for healthcare investments; * funding for national health programmes based on scientific evidence; * a drastic reform of the healthcare quality control system; * a firm engagement to increase health funding by 1% of the GDP anually; * an end to drug shortages; * real institutionalization of evidence-based medical principles; * a reorganized medical residency programme.
