We saw the change through their eyes
The first children have moved to the new Hospital. A place where children can keep on being children, while also fighting disease. A place where parents can feel that everything possible is being done for their little ones. A place where the medical staff has all the necessary conditions to perform.
The children are now being treated in the oncology, neurosurgery, surgery and intensive care unit of the new Hospital. The operating theatre with 5 ORs is also completely functional.
#WeBuildAHospital has turned into #We have built a Hospital. And we're carrying on, with a pediatric medical campus.
We're carrying on with a second building, creating the first Pediatric Medical Campus in Romania
Only a few of the departments in Marie Curie Hospital have moved to the first building. But all sick children should be treated in the same modern conditions. What's next?
- Constructing a second building, where we can move all the other departments, offering the same treatment conditions.
- Transforming the current Marie Curie Hospital building into accommodation spaces, learning spaces, technical spaces.
See the first prototype of the second building.

#NoiFacemUnSpital: Progress in photos
You've helped build a unique project. We can measure it in square meters, levels, departments, beds, kilometers of pipes or cables, thousands of hours of work. See the numbers below and the progress in the photos on the right.
- 250.000 linear meters of cables installed
- 25.000 linear meters of pipes used
- 2.500 light fixtures
- 2.000 wall sockets
- a 100-ton technical terrace
But most of all, we can measure it in chances given, in hope, in strength. For the children, their families and the medical staff, you were the one who brought about change.

See what the Hospital looks like
We've set up a virtual tour of the Hospital in Google Street View. Use the lateral navigation to go from one floor to the next and explore each room.
What happens in the Hospital
We wanted this Hospital to be built around the child and their needs. To be a place where they can continue to be kids while fighting illness. For that reason, we've created multiple spaces that can bring smiles to the faces of the little patients and their parents.
An astronomical observatory, a radio, an interior garden, a cinema and several playrooms. Here, we organize interactive activities with the children and their parents and we find time for play and laughter, as much as possible in a Hospital.
